I'chiliad glad I doubled this, using a 3-pound roast, because now we can enjoy this once again! The recipe has firsthand appeal; still, I found I was going to play with it. Chuck is a fat cut so I didn't see the need to add ANY oil, let alone so much. In fact, I trimmed the roast of a expert deal of the fat before throwing it in the Crock Pot (rather than the oven). I used no oil, and but 1 cup of beefiness stock, even tho' I doubled the recipe. I couldn't come across adding what would have been 2 cups of stock only to "bleed and discard 80% of the liquid" as the recipe directs! In improver to doubling the remaining ingredients for my three-pound roast, I added a teaspoon each of Mexican oregano and salt, and a good handful each of chopped Poblano peppers and onions. Since it would spend eight-10 hours in the Crock Pot, I skipped the marinating process, simply putting all ingredients in the Crock Pot from the start. This was splendid; tho' I must stress that the oil can/should be eliminated and only use half as much stock so y'all don't need to discard whatever! I used this to make shredded beef enchiladas and we both loved it and are looking forrad to enjoying this once again equally tacos.

Wow! After making this recipe I will never become back to ground beef tacos again! The meat came out so tender and moist and the flavor was splendid. I marinated it overnight post-obit the marinade exactly as written in the recipe. When I baked it in the oven, I used a can of beefiness goop instead of beef stock. Looking forward to making it again for company - it'south a keeper!

My sons favorite meal is tacos then he was hesitant, but I make this in my crockpot. Wrap upward the beef with marinade in foil, not necessary to marinate alee, and put the whole thing in my crock. Cook viii hrs. on low, and so remove beef and shred, put back in crock with juices and serve. It is delicious, easy and great left overs. We summit with a slaw of shredded cabbage, tossed with blood-red wine vinegar, a dash of saccharide, common salt and chili powder to sense of taste. Piece of cake delicious meal, like shooting fish in a barrel clean up.

Best shredded beefiness tacos I've fabricated. Making them again for the second time tonight. I added more than spices (onion pulverisation, basis caynne, salt, pepper, ground oregano, smoke paprika, and a footling of Spikes all purpose seasoning.)Added 2teaspoon of the spices instead of ane and a one-half expect with the cayenne I used a bit more. I also added a bit more lime juice and vinegar. I opt out using oil and marinated the beef chunks for about 3 hours. I browned the beef chunks on the stove before cooking it in the oven. I too made bootleg glaucoma to pour on top.

Like another reviewer, I used my crockpot, so I omitted the oil. I used Bud Low-cal Lime (one cup...darn had to drink the residuum, lol), a quartered lime, sparse sliced pablano pepper and onion. Astonishing! I honey street style tacos and this was perfect for that. Nosotros used corn tortillas and all the fixins. Volition definitely do this again.

I agree, add some oregano and no vegetable oil needed when using chuck roast or stew meat. Fabricated mine in the crockpot, like shooting fish in a barrel informal, and served "taco salad" style. Crisped a ten" flour tortilla in a 425 deg oven, draped over a pam-sprayed cereal bowl to create the salad shell. So put in lettuce, diced fresh tomatoes, salsa, the meat, squeeze of fresh lime and topped with shredded cheese (any kind you lot like). This plus a margarita or two, and it's like yous're sitting in your favorite mex eating place...big hit with DH too...volition brand a double batch adjacent time for leftovers.

This was quite good but I used onions instead of garlic.

I put this together on Sabbatum night so that it could marinade overnight. Turned out bully, we used as the centerpiece of our stay-at-home football tailgating on Sunday. It went over big. Side by side time, I will utilise a bit more lime and garlic, but that'south simply my sense of taste.

This was delicious!! I did substitute a couple of things only because of supply. Instead of cumin I used a couple tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, and instead of chili powder, I used ruddy pepper flakes. This was past far the best shredded beef I accept always made!!
05/26/2021
Mediocre at best. Even when I added jalapeƱos and onion powder, these were banal. Likewise, definitely not soft enough to pull apart subsequently 2.v hours of bake fourth dimension. Definitely not worth the time.

Loved information technology very piece of cake to exercise equally the slow cooker does all the work equally I don't like to be in the kitchen long periods of time making a dish makes for slap-up in between meals snack food to hold yous over to the side by side meal next time though I have to hike upwards the spiciness to brand information technology a bit hotter

I've made this recipe about six times and it has come out perfect each time. The get-go time, I followed the recipe exactly. Afterward that, I've only used the tiresome cooker. For the boring cooker, I omit the oil and I added salt, pepper and some oregano along with the other ingredients. I don't marinate the roast but allow information technology slow cook in the marinade for viii-ten hours on low or half-dozen hours on high. This recipe is a keeper!
